POSITION:               POWERBUILDER DEVELOPER (#558170E)

LOCATION:             CONCORD, NH

Developer will discuss with client manager, software architect, delivery manager, and business analyst to understand the given Change Requests (CR) or enhancements. Evaluate different options for the optimal solution(s) to address the change requests or enhancements using technical knowledge and programming skills. Prepare detailed functional and technical documentation including screen design to implement the solution(s). Develop, test, and implement PowerBuilder programs to implement the solution(s) using PowerScript language, PowerBuilder Reporting tool and embedded SQL, stored procedures and triggers to interact with the underlying Oracle database. Use common code framework PowerBuilder Foundation Classes (PFC) to inherit objects from existing application programs. Make effective use of the features of DataWindow to develop the user interface. Coordinate with Database Administrators to implement SQL optimization and Data transformation logic for the programs. Discuss with client manager, software architect, delivery manager, and business analyst Change Requests (CR) priority and move the solutions to development process, complete the development, test, and promote it for deployment in production environment. Keep track of application build by implementing Version Control tools like Git, Azure. Create packages for development process such as Online, Query, Batch, Data Fix, DB Change, DSD, and promote and demote each package into various software development life cycle phases. Prepare Technical Specifications Documents, Detailed System Design (DSD), and Internal Assessment (IA) documents. Identify areas for upgrading the existing application(s) to meet flexibility of business processes. Create adhoc queries to generate the complex reports as per the client request. Provide production and test batch support including weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual runs. Provide support for infrastructure upgrades including PowerBuilder and Oracle versions.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Applications or a related field plus five (5) years of experience in developing and maintaining applications using PowerBuilder technologies. Employer will accept a 3 year foreign degree in Computer Science, Computer Applications or a related field plus five years of experience in developing and maintaining applications using PowerBuilder technologies.
